How 150 colleagues really got to know each other in Oudenaarde
How do you strengthen the bond between 150 colleagues, spread across different departments, in one afternoon? Beddeleem’s team came up with the question, and we knew the answer: a solid dose of teamwork, outdoor fun and competition during a Teamtrophy at The Outsider Flemish Ardennes.
The goal? To get the teams back on edge after construction leave and get to know each other better. The approach? An adventurous, humorous and connecting total experience in nature.

1:30 p.m. – Reception at the summer bar.
Beddeleem colleagues were welcomed with drinks at our cozy summer bar, overlooking Donk Pond. The teams were assembled in advance, which immediately created a healthy competitive buzz. Not everyone already knew each teammate, so that was extra exciting. A quick catch-up, put on the sports clothes, all gear aside, and then: ready for battle.
14:00 – Briefing & time for action in the woods
After a general briefing, all team members find each other and are assigned to the appropriate Outsider monitor. The competitive spirit rises. This gang is clearly looking forward to it!
For half the teams, the first trial round is in the Teambuilders Forest. Divided into 16 teams of 8 to 10 participants, they will work through six teamwork challenges revolving around communication, trust and collaboration. The teams are putting their best foot forward, and the monitor is closely monitoring the scores….
Trials such as the Mohawk Walk, Elephant Paws, Spider’s Web and The Wall pass by. Each task a little drier than the next!
15:30 – Short break
After the first block, participants take a short break. They drink something, seek some refreshment and get ready for round two.
16:00 – Fun challenges on the grassy plaza.
The second block starts with a totally different approach: pure fun! These Funchallenges are all about fun and team spirit.
Participants engage in five light-hearted but active tasks, including the Memory Run, Water to Whiskey, a tough sledge challenge and the classic tug-of-war. There will be loud encouragement, creative cooperation and, above all, lots of laughter.
17:30 – Shower, change clothes and chat
The competition is over. After two hours of intense action, participants are given time to freshen up and change clothes. While the sweat disappears, the adrenaline lingers. The atmosphere is good, and the best is yet to come!
18:00 – Reception on the rooftop & awards ceremony
Everyone gathers on the rooftop bar. The sun is slowly sinking, drinks are ready and the view of the water creates an instant vacation atmosphere.
Excitement rises, as it is time for the awards ceremony. The scores are extremely close, but in the end one team takes first place. They are loudly applauded and receive the Beddeleem trophy to take home. An eternal proof of their victory!
19:00 – BBQ in the ballroom, a finale to savor
The day ends with a sumptuous barbecue buffet in the ballroom. Colleagues choose a spot inside or outside and enjoy the good food and strong stories they created today together. Wonderful to see how this day brought such a large group so much closer together.
The Team Trophy ends not with a trophy – but with new tires, fresh energy Ć”nd memories that stick.
And what does team Beddeleem itself say?
𬠓And whether it was a cool team building… Only positive reactions. Thanks to all the team from The Outsider – a hit!“ – Marnix, HR Director at Beddeleem
Yessss, mission accomplished!
Enjoy the aftermovie a little longer …
