Welcome to The Outsider Cablepark in Oudenaarde, a cablepark for both beginners and experienced riders. Are you trying water skiing or wakeboarding for the first time, or do you already have years of experience on the water? This is the place to discover your skills or take them to the next level.
Additional infrastructure is also provided for disabled athletes, including sit-skiing and guidance.
Are you a complete beginner? Then the 2.0 initiation cable is ideal for taking your first steps on the water. This cable without bends is ideal for practicing the start and basic posture.
There are separate opening hours for this, or you can hire the cable privately. The AVLAR wakeboard club uses it during the Start 2 Wake sessions on Thursday evenings.
For those who are ready for the real challenge, there is the 5.0 cableway with five turns, measuring 638 meters. Here, it’s all about fun and honing your sailing skills. If you prefer not to be disturbed during your session, you can hire it privately.
Are you ready for a real adrenaline rush? Then try out our obstacles.

Have you acquired a taste for wakeboarding? Take advantage of a punch card or subscription!
Come riding at an affordable price and purchase a punch card. You purchase 5 sessions of 2 hours each and get one free session on top. You can easily book your sessions yourself using the quick booking tool and the unique code on your punch card.
Can’t get enough of wakeboarding? Buy a season pass and become part of our community along with many others. Due to the VAT increase from 6 to 12% by the government, we are forced to raise our prices. We would like to clarify that we do not profit from this price increase.

Starting the first weekend of April, we are flying right back into it! Put it in your calendar and count down with us to the start of our cable park season.

Our sitwake sessions are there especially for people with (physical) disabilities, who want to enjoy the thrill of water sports together with family or friends. Sign up for one of our initiations and test it out!
Have you never keeboarded, water-skied or wakeboarded? Here’s your chance, learn it all at your pace! With this initiation concept, we focus on adults with little to no experience.
During the summer vacations, our internships are the perfect opportunity to take your wakeboarding skills to the next level. The focus is on young people from 10 to 21 years old. There are sessions for beginners and for advanced wakeboarders.
Find out everything you need to know for a smooth start to your session on the water. So you know where to sign in, pick up equipment, change clothes and so on.
Is it your first time? Then be sure to watch this video beforehand. We give tips on how to sail and what to do if you fall. Learn the first steps of kneeboarding, water skiing and wakeboarding.

AVLAR stands for ‘Avonturensportclub Vlaamse Ardennen’ and is the regular wakeboard club at The Outsider Cablepark. With our community we organize a lot of extra’s during and outside opening hours for the real wakeboard fanatics, but also for beginners and people with disabilities. Water fun for everyone!
Bring tight-fitting (athletic) swimwear, a towel & your ID card (for verification of your -16 year ticket). Flip-flops may also be handy to attach to your life jacket to make the walk from the cable car to the starting dock more pleasant. Do you have your own equipment such as helmet, life jacket, wetsuit or board? Then of course you may bring these too!
You can store your equipment in the lockers at the cable park. There are small lockers for valuables such as smartphones and wallets. These are free, but with a coin of ā¬1. The large lockers for a backpack and clothing are paying, with a coin of ā¬1.
Both showers and changing rooms are available on our property. So you can easily change and freshen up before or after activities. For ā¬0.50 you can use our showers. In the adventure park there is also a free fountain and outdoor showers to rinse off.
In addition to access at the big cable, helmet, life jacket, kneeboard and water skis are also included in the price. If the small cable car is also open during your session, you will automatically have access to this as well.
It is always best to reserve in advance. There are a maximum of 30 places per time slot, so places are limited. To avoid disappointment, buy your tickets online. If there are still spaces left, it is also possible to buy tickets at the Cablepark ticket office.
Yes, being able to swim is mandatory. Safety is our number one priority. Because all of our cable activities take place on the water, it is important that each participant can independently keep themselves above water and can swim comfortably with a life jacket.
Your 1 or 2 hour ticket includes everything you need to start at the cable car: kneeboard, water skis, helmet, life jacket and of course access to the cable car. During your booking process you will have the chance to rent a wakeboard easy-up, a wakeboard obstacles or a wetsuit in addition. This is NOT mandatory, but optional.
The logical order is kneeboarding first, then water skiing, and finally wakeboarding. This is the most difficult step. Experience with snowboarding, kite or skateboarding can help with learning to wakeboard, though. If you want to try wakeboarding for the first time, choose a wakeboard easy-up. Only when you manage to do laps with the easy-up can you switch to an obstacle wakeboard. You can also rent these materials at the reception desk. Feel free to ask a staff member for advice.
If you would like to wakeboard but find that extra guidance is needed, book a Start2Wake session on Thursday nights from our water ski club AVLAR!
From 8 years the small cable is accessible, from 10 years the big cable is accessible. We recommend that children always start at the small cable car. The small cable is open for a limited time, check the opening hours in advance to book your session.
On the 2.0 initiation cable there can be one person at a time. On the 5.0 large cable car, 8 people can go at a time. During a time slot, we allow a maximum of 30 people. This way we guarantee that you can start the cable car sufficiently, since you will always need time to swim or walk back.
For wakeboarding/water skiing, you may walk straight from the parking lot to the Cablepark itself (on the water). There you will find the reception desk where you will receive your access tape. You can also pick up your equipment at the reception desk. It is best to check in 15 to 30 minutes before your start time to make sure you can start your session on time.
There are set times when the small cable car is open and the big cable car runs slower. Ideal for beginners!
If it is your first time, it is best to let the operator at the cable car know. He will help you get started and give you the necessary tips and tricks. Also take a good look at the information boards at the starting dock, they will help you get a smooth start.
Do you like to come well prepared? Then check out our instructional videos for beginners.
Want to really learn from scratch, with a professional initiator? Then choose Start 2 Wake on Thursday nights from our water ski club AVLAR.
